KING SALMON
FISHING PROGRAM - SEASON 2024 - CHILE
JANUARY - FEBRUARY - MARCH - APRIL
Hidden between ancient and snowy forests, surrounded by green landscapes and unique fauna in Chilean Patagonia. A river of green and turquoise waters that receives a new batch of fresh salmon at each tide. The greatest attribute of this river is the real possibility of fishing king salmon in its most energetic, fresh and powerful state.
Northern Patagonia near Hornopirén, with exceptional weather during the fishing season. In the morning we can have temperatures between 10º and 15ºC, the maximum temperatures between 1:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. can easily reach 20ºC. Making this place a privileged sector for salmon fishing at pleasant temperatures between February and April. Some occasional rains typical of Chilean Patagonia can refresh a day of fishing.
As fishermen and Chileans we know these rivers perfectly, from their source in the Andes to their mouth in the fjord. 2022 will be the sixth season of Persica with guests on this magnificent river, we know the dates and the changes that have occurred in the rivers.
We have organized the best week for the different rivers, we know the changes that the advance of the salmon presents each year. Persica is all you need!
OUR LOCATION ON THE RIVER
Located 4 km upstream from the mouth of the river. Persica Camp is installed 30 meters from the shore, on a high and safe meadow
We move along the river using our two boats, one boat always available in front of the camp to cover the lower part of the river and the other boat to cover the upper part of the river. Two guests travel the first section of the river (lower part), while the other two passengers travel the second section (upper part). After lunch we make the change. In this way all our guests will have the same chances of getting a King.

ACCOMMODATION
PERSICA CAMP - LUXURY CANVAS TENTS: Absolutely waterproof tents with three top vents to prevent condensation. Windows and entrance door with mosquito netting, guests will sleep in double occupancy, each of our tents has two queen-size beds inside which include sheets, blankets and bedspreads. There is also accommodation in individual tents! Ample interior space to easily store all your suitcases. Each tent of our guests has a 2.5M long awning with a large wooden hanger, this free space is designed to store fishing equipment or clothing protected from the sun and rain. The interior and exterior lighting of our tents and camp is obtained by solar energy. Each tent has a cell phone charger.
Our camp has two equipped bathrooms (chemical toilet and sink with drinking water) We also have a shower cabin with hot water, adjustable up to 40º (potable water) Our shower cabin has enough interior space to dress in dry clothes after the shower without leaving it.
Dining room with capacity for 08 people where our exquisite meals will be served, a meeting room to share a glass of wine and good times will always be available to our guests. At all times we only use drinking water, thanks to our large water tank. Our camp has a cell phone signal.
IMPORTANT: The use of the camp will be subject to weather conditions, so if the administration of Persica deems it necessary, our closest accommodation should be used: Mon River Cabin.
CABIN - MON RIVER

Reeds: One #9 or #10 two-handed rod. 12′ 6″ at 14 feet is enough to cover any situation on the river, we recommend bringing at least two rods.

Reels: (powerful brake) with a big shaft with a good quality brake and between 200 and 300 meters of backing of 50-80 lbs.

Lines: We recommend Guideline TripleD sinking shooting heads, for example: 1/3/5 sink, 2/4/6 sink and 3/5/7 sink. Also floating and intermediate Skagit lines with 15 foot long sinking T-10, T-14, T-17 and T-20 tips work very well. (for River Chrome and King)

Leader: Use strong fluorocarbon or monofilament line for tippet, we recommend 0.45mm monofilament as 1.5-2.5m long.

Flies: 2-4 inch tube tied and Intruder style flies. Bunny Leeches, chartreuse patterns (with or without flash) red/pink flies (with crystal flash) orange and green flies (without flash).

Hooks: Sizes 1, 1/0, 2/0 and 3/0. Timeco TMC 600SP and OWNER SSW With Super Needle Point.

Others: A pair of pliers and wire cutters.
